A treasured photograph of them astride it has always given me a fascination for them, and a secret longing to ride one. I didn’t see many bicycles in any of the places we visited in South America. Of course the terrain was unsuitable in a lot of the locations we visited, but even in the cities I did not notice many. I don’t think I would have liked to cycle in that traffic either! Reply roff on September 9, 2018 at 7:02 am I was very pleasantly surprised by the amount of cyclists and cycling in Sao Paulo. There are a lot of cycling lanes and on Sundays they close off entire lanes on some streets – big boulevards too, not just obscure back streets – so people can get out there on their bicycles. And they do. In droves. It is really good to see. The story I was shooting for Toyota was about the use of tandems for commuting.
